Essential Mod is actually dogshit. like it's supposed to be a simple server hoster, but they add all this bloat of friends and messaging and screenshots and microtransactions for cosmetics and it's all just shitty when you can just use e4mc and just open to lan and call it a day. i get wanting to make money a different way than to go off ad revanue from curseforge or modrinth, but this is too much. plus with all the extra stuff and it being closed source, rumors about it secretly being a malware may be factual, the world may never know. use e4mc for hosting (if you seriously cant just port forward) and enjoy a much more stable experience with more performance and less headache.
Mod Rating can piss some people off and make others orgasm at the fact others share an opinion. Shitty mods are way too common. it may be nostalgia or not, but there's definitely some mods that suck, and some that are just REALLY good.
draconic evolution is just kinda stupid imo. it's a mess, it's got awful design and its unnecessarily OP in a not good way.
Mystical Agriculture is another one, along with Productive Bees and almost any other mod that you just set something up early game and leave it be till end game. i hate everything that's too easy. i believe there should be a challenge in everything. BUT FORESTRY BEES ARE PEAK, THAT WAS TELL DONE!
some people say that "oh these mods are a necessity in packs like ATM cause the star takes a lot of resources!!!!!" oh shut up, you and the others that play are just too damn lazy to make larger setups. modded servers will never be large so tps issues dont count as an excuse. if you run a large server and bitch about low tps, thats on you 99% of the time.
Modern Industrialization gives you infinite ore resources, but the infrastructure to keep it going balances it all out.
Other mods like Sophisticated suite suck, i hate these complex ass backpacks and barrels, i want the og bacpacks from like the original hexxit pack. just a backpack and a large backpack that can be dyed, nothing more nothing less. soph also has like 7 fucking pages of EMI stuff, like you could at LEAST done what functional storage does and use framed block entities with upgrades that doesnt add half a fuck ton of items, it's just item bloat.
ftb ranks also fucking blows. anything ftb for permissions is horrible. it's stupidly complex for new players and you need to go digging for permissions, compared to luck perms which gives you a literal web interface to configure your server. a million times better in every way.
twilight forest pisses me off. i know the modding work is not necessarily paid, but i bet you TF gets a LOT of money from downloads and such and it's been stagnant for the past like 7 years. that fucking castle has looked the same for longer than half of the mod's lifetime.
crafttweaker is bad now. kubejs ftw dont @ me.
mekanism is kinda absurd, especially when it comes to the numbers you can get to with the effort needed to reach them. MI can def get to those numbers but the effort makes it 100% valid.

- the confusing stupid non-making sense equations for coolants
- the community of people who think they should get praise for completing a pack while they're only power source is 300 thermo generators in a room
the energizing orb is a neat idea, but its implemented poorly into an unbalanced simplistic power gen mod (not like there wasnt another 10 basic power gen mods when it first came out).
refined storage is just ae2 with no channels, less features/addons, and simpler textures. need i say more?
model gap fix. it does the opposite nowadays for me. it causes the texture gaps in newer versions.
i remember tinkers being shit. i need to test the newer versions cause i havent played a new version in a while, but if its too similar, i'm gonna pop a blood vessel. for the era when it was made it was brillant, then it didnt change. it needs stuff like the kilns in Better Thna Wolves for simple casting and such that weird two block high thing in tinkers doesnt count, get creative! need some Vintage Story blacksmithing type shit asap!!
enderio is another. only good thing from that are the conduits. everything else is kinda ehh.
extreme reactors. its textures look like shit and it's not the OG big(ger) reactors.
just dire things, they're textures are a bit bright. it has some cool things in it and its GUIs are kinda cute, but i think die started going a little overboard with it. saw how successful the mod was getting and kept adding more that does exactly fit the original idea of the mod. like the portal gun stuff. there's plenty of teleportation mods out there already. if anything, port the original portal gun mod. the new energy transmitter. there's plenty of wireless energy mods already. (i also just noticed the item id is energytransmitter without an underscore and it kinda bugs me) the only time based thing that's cool is the paradox thing. the fuel types is kinda stupid, no one uses it im sorry, its just factual. i do like how the upgrades are done tho. the easy toggling and adjustng of them, also how the speed upgrades work without giving you an effect and the stupid swirlie particles (plus you keep a smooth momentum when u jump, its so fun to use). the wands that fling u is cool too
entangled is stupid and takes away the challenge of wiring up stuff. there's a 1.7 mod that has something kinda like it, but the direction of the transportation is fixed. if you input an item or fluid or energy in through the west side of one block, then on the other one (wherever that may be) then the output will be on the east side, which restricts you a bit but it keeps it challenging. or, engangled should limit the distance to like, 4 blocks just for simple conviencencies.
plus, challenge makes what ur spending time on worth the time spent doing it. if i bought a game that gave me 100 hours of mindless super easy content and i compared it to a game that gave me 100 hours of complicated, challenging, but interesting content, i'd tell myself i got screwed over on the first game and i'd want my money back. like the 100 hours of the first game just wasnt worth not only my time but also my money
mi quantum gear is kinda dumb too. it shouldnt be invincible and the quantum sword shouldnt be one punch man. i think the nano gear with anti-grav chestplate and maybe equiv to like prot 50 or something would be perfect for end game gear. and this means the creative flight WOULD need to be powered, making the tesla coils of EI be a must. just cause you solved nuclear fusion doesnt mean you can just defy physics
ae quantum armor can jump off a bridge. it just looks stupid, ae doesnt need armor come on now, that mod is better at farming CF points than it is being a good addition.
mek extras is like the last 3 seasons of 13 reasons why. its not needed, the first season was great (relatively) and then adding on was just utter dogshit.

yk, i'd kinda like having voltages and amps in MI, but instead of shit exploding, i'd rather have you get flashbanged and the cables just disconnect from each other at the initial connection point between the two voltages or something
